Don’t know what “lemon water” is? Just watch an episode of my child’s favorite show on Netflix (Sarah & Duck) and you will soon know. Sarah frequently makes lemon water to share with her pal, Duck. It’s really just freshly squeezed lemon juice. That’s all. However, my little one has been requesting lemon water for months. So, I decided that I would create my own version of lemon water.
What do you need to create your very own lemon water that is a little more palatable than fresh lemon juice?
*two Meyer lemons
*a splash of homemade vanilla extract (I’ll post the recipe someday. Until then, regular vanilla extract will suffice.)
*1 tsp (or more) of cinnamon
*3 tbsp (or more) clover honey
*water
*one large mason jar
Roll lemons while pushing them onto a counter or table top to soften them. Slice lemons.
Combine all ingredients in mason jar. Adjust ingredient amounts to your preference. Secure lid. Shake. Pour. Refill jar with water and any vanilla extract, cinnamon, or honey you desire. Shake. Repeat.
We’ve been able to use the same lemons for several batches of lemon water. My little guy loves it and believes it tastes the same as it does on Sarah & Duck. I personally like it better than lemonade.
If you try it, make sure to tell me about it in the comments. I’d love you hear from you!
Great. Thanks!
